Freescale Expands Flash Programming Services
Austin, Texas-based microcontroller designer Freescale Semiconductor said today that it has expanded its flash programming services, across its line of microcontrollers for the consumer and industrial market. The firm said that its in-house MCU programming and turnkey services from Source Electronics, now include its recently qualified 8-bit MCUs, 16-bit MCUs, digital signal controllers (DSCs) and 32-bit Coldfire microncontrollers. The programming services allow electronics manufacturers using Freescale's MCUs to ramp volume production quicker; previously, customers had to develop their own flash programming as part of their own manufacturing processes. Freescale is a manufacturer of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, networking, wireless, and other markets.
