Interphase Ties Into Surf Communication Solutions

Plano, Texas-based Interphase, a provider of appliances and I/O cards for the communications industry, said Thursday with Israeli firm Surf Communications Solutions that the companies have integrated an Interphase controller with Surf's DSP multimedia processing products. The integration creates a solution that allows customers of the two firms to develop media gateways, media servers, and mobile gateway applications. Media gateways and servers are used for serving multimedia content to telecommunications customers. The companies said that integration covers development of those services on AdvancedTCA, MicroTCA, and IBM BladeCenter platforms. Those three platforms are used heavily by hardware providers for developing products for the telecommunications market.
