Silicon Labs Adds Downing as Strategy, BizDev VP

Silicon Laboratories Inc., a manufacturer of mixed-signal integrated circuits, announced Monday that it has hired Mark Downing to fill the newly established role of vice president of strategy and business development. Silicon Laboratories said Downing is a 20-year industry veteran and will help evolve the company's long-term strategy. Working from the company's Austin, Texas, headquarters, Downing will report to CEO Necip Sayiner, Silicon Laboratories added. Prior to joining Silicon Laboratories, Downing served as CEO and director of Enpirion. He was also vice president of marketing for Micrel and Pericom Semiconductor, Silicon Laboratories said.
