Silicon Labs Buys Telegesis For $20M

Austin-based Silicon Labs said late Monday that it has acquried UK-based Telegesis, a provider of ZigBee wireless modules. Silicon Labs said it will pay approximately $20M in cash for Telegesis, which it ssays will contribute approximately $8 to $10M in annual run-rate. Silicon Labs will hire approximately 20 Telegesis employees in the acquisition. Silicon Labs said the buy will help it accelerate its roadmap for ZigBee products. Telegesis was founded in 1998.
