Silicon Labs Buys Integration Associates for $80M
Austin, Texas-based semiconductor manufacturer Silicon Laboratories Inc. announced Wednesday that it has concluded its acquisition of fabless semiconductor producer Integration Associates Inc. The deal, Silicon Labs said, is worth some $80 million after accounting for Integration Associates' net assets. Headquartered in California's famed Silicon Valley area, Integration Associates makes analog-intensive integrated circuits. Necip Sayiner, Silicon Labs' president and chief executive officer, said the acquisition hastens his company's entry into the short-range wireless market while also expanding its power and intellectual property portfolios. Silicon Labs said Integration Associates' products will be sold under the Silicon Laboratories brand and supported by Silicon Labs' global sales and service network.
