Cirrus Logic Completes $42M Purchase of Apex Micro

Cirrus Logic Inc., a manufacturer of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, announced Tuesday that it has completed its acquisition of Apex Microtechnology, a provider of high-power analog amplifiers. Cirrus said the financial terms of the deal were approximately $42 million in cash. Founded in 1980, Apex is headquartered in Tucson, Ariz. Cirrus did not reveal whether it would preserve Apex's staff, but the Austin, Texas-based company did say it intends to continue marketing Apex products under the Apex Precision Power brand while supporting Apex's 80 products and 1,200 worldwide customers.
