BMC Software Adds Bloom to Board of Directors
BMC Software, a publisher of enterprise management applications, reported Wednesday that Gary Bloom will join its board of directors as of Oct. 1. The Houston-based company described Bloom as a software technology veteran with more than 20-year of senior management experience. Most recently, Bloom served as vice chairman and president of Symantec, which he joined in 2005 through the company's merger with VERITAS Software. At VERITAS, Bloom worked as chairman, president and chief executive officer. Bloom also spent 14 years at Oracle Corp. and has previously served on the boards of four publicly traded companies: Virata, Globespan Virata, VERITAS and Symantec. He currently sits on the board of directors at Taleo, a provider of on-demand talent management.
