EFJohnson Links With Cisco
Irving, Texas-based EFJ, Inc. said today that its EFJohnson subsidiary has linked with Cisco, to combine Cisco's IP Interoperability and Collaboration System (IPICS) with EF Johnson's communications products. EFJ said that Cisco has licensed its radio control protocol, which will allow for linking Cisco's products with a wider range of public safety communications products. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Cisco's IPICS product is used for connecting IP-based phones, laptops, and PCs with radio handsets, cell phones, and telephones. EFJohnson is a manufacturer of two way radios and communications products for law enforcement, fire fighting, EMS, and military use.
