Silicon Labs, Analog Devices Settle Lawsuit
Chip manufacturers Silicon Laboratories Inc. and Analog Devices Inc. announced Tuesday that they have ended their legal wrangling. Terms of the settlement, which was filed in a U.S. District Court in Boston, were not disclosed. Analog Devices first brought suit against Silicon Labs in December 2006, alleging that Silicon Labs' Si84xx product line infringed upon its patents related to production and signaling technologies for its iCoupler chips, which enable communication between separate electrical circuits while preventing current flow between them. Analog Devices is based in Norwood, Mass. Silicon Laboratories is headquartered in Austin, Texas.
