Augmentix Ships 1U Server
Austin-based Augmentix, which develops ruggedized personal computers and servers, said Thursday that it has announced a new, rackable 1U server. The firm said the new A+R200 server is based on Dell's PowerEdge R200 enterprise server, and features Dual-Core Xeon 3000 and Qual-Core Xeon 3200 processor options. Augmentix provide ruggedized version of Dell's server platforms for the military, industrial, and government customers. The servers can handle more extreme temperatures, vibration, and shock than standard off-the-shelf PC servers. Augmentix is backed by venture firms Austin Ventures, Centennial Ventures and G-51 Capital.
