Entorian to Pay $34.2M for PC Maker Augmentix
Entorian Technologies Inc., a provider of semiconductor-packaging and chip-stacking products, announced Monday that it has acquired Augmentix Corp., a manufacturer of mobile computers and servers for use in rugged environments. Entorian said the total purchase price was $34.2 million—$23.5 million in cash and some $10.7 million in convertible notes. Stephan Godevais, president and CEO of Augmentix, joins Entorian's management team as president of its Augmentix subsidiary. Prior to Augmentix, Godevais served as chairman, president and CEO of Valence Technologies. He also worked as vice president and general manager of Dell Inc.'s Inspiron and Dimension product groups. Entorian is headquartered in Austin, Texas, as was Augmentix.
