RipCode Rolls Out Transcoding Product
Dallas-based RipCode, a venture backed firm which develops video transcoding products, said Tuesday that it has rolled out a new real-time transcoding product to its product lineup. According to RipCode, the new appliance uses DSP-based video transcoding to give mobile video streaming and mobile TV broadcast customers optimized videos over IP or broadcast networks. The new appliance supports transcoding satellite and studio feeds to a variety of mobile networking formats. Those formats include 3GPP and 3GPP2, DVB-H, MBMS, ATSC, and Qualcomm MediaFlo. Pricing on the new appliance was not disclosed. RipCode is venture backed by Hunt Ventures, El Dorado Partners, ATA Ventures, and Vesbridge Partners.
