Caringo Links To Open Source Software
Austin-based Caringo is tying its software into an open source, enterprise content management (ECM) tool called Alfresco, the firm said Tuesday. Caringo said that the firm's storage software has been tied into the Alfresco open source software, which allows the software to use Caringo's CAstor product to store business records and documents. Caringo said the interface comes as part of an effort by developer XeniT, and is in production at an unnamed Belgian insurance company. Caringo develops clustered data storage software, which uses commodity servers to implement content-addressable-storage (CAS).
