NEON Targets Mainframe Costs
Sugar Land-based NEON Enterprise Software, a developer of products for the mainframe market, said today that it has rolled out a new product it says will save companies in IT ccosts. According to the firm, its product allows companies to shift batch worloads from expensive IBM Systems z central processors (CP) to less expensive, specialty processors such as IBM's System z Integrated Information Processor (zIIP) or System z Application Assist Processors (zAAP). The firm said the product could save its customers "millions" in costs.
