LifeSize Announces New Product, Upgrades

Austin-based LifeSize, a developer of high definition video conferencing hardware, said Wednesday that it has shipped a new product for connecting multiple video conferencing systems, and also upgraded its management software. LifeSize said its new Multipoint 230 supports 1030p multi-party conferencing, and will connect up to 30 sites via 720p, or 15 sites via 1080p video. The upgraded LifeSize Control 4.5 software is used by administrators to control their distributed video communications hardware, and now includes such features as connecting into SNMP management suites like HP OpenView and Tivoli TME. Pricing on its new Multipoint 230 product was not disclosed.
