Spiceworks Ships Power Management Software
Austin-based Spiceworks, a developer of IT management tools, said today that it has shipped a new plug-in for its IT management software, for power regulation. The firm said the new plug-in automatically regulates the power consumption of networked computers, and was developed in conjunction with Intel. Features of the new plug-in include remote power consumption management, visual mapping of devices which are powered on or off, and calculation of dollar saved through power management. The company said the plug-in is available for free. Spiceworks is venture backed by Austin Ventures and Shasta Ventures.
