Equinix Plans Expansion In Dallas
Data center operator Equinix said Wednesday that it has big expansion plans in Dallas, and will be investing $25M to add 40,000 square feet of space in a new data center in the city. Equinix--which is based in Silicon Valley--said the new facility will add approximately 40,000 gross square feet of data center space, and the equivalent of 420 cabinets in the market. The firm said the buildout comes because that Dallas-Fort Worth market is "one of the largest concentrations of companies headquartered in the United States," and that the region specifically has a large number of telecommunications and IT services firms. Equinix already maintains another data center at the same location.
