Caringo Adds Power Management To Software
Austin-based Caringo, a developer of content storage software, said this week that it has upgraded its CAStor software to add new power conservation technology and other features. The firm's object-based storage software is used by businesses to store archive data. Caringo said the upgraded software uses a technology it is billing Darkive, which adaptively spins down disk drives to reduce power and CPU utilization in nodes. The firm also said it added object replication and audit trail features yo its software, among other upgrades.
