New Startup Focuses On Nanofibers

A new startup in Edinburg, Texas, spun out of the University of Texas - Pan American (UTPA), is focusing on manufacturing microscopic nanofibers. According to UTPA, it has launched FibeRio Technology Corporation, which is developing technology for creating microscopic nanofibers used to produce everything from traditional textiles to medical supplies and aerospace materials. UTPA claimed that FibeRio will be able to generate $234M in revenue by 2014 and 110 jobs, and is the first startup in its Rapid Response Manufacturing Center (RRMC) incubator for emerging companies.
