Gowalla Launches New Business Pages, City Pages
Austin-based Gowalla, the location-based check-in startup, said today that it has expanded its services, adding new city pages, "verified venues" for businesses, and new custom stamps for businesses. According to Gowalla, it has created new City Pages which allow users to see highlights of specific cities and attractions. The new City Pages display the most popular places and highlights in a city on a Google Map, including restaurants, cafes, shopping, and more. The firm also said it is launching a way for local businesses to claim their own spots on the service, which allows those businesses to update information about businesses, add welcome messages and offers, as well as purchase and create their own, custom stamps to award to Gowalla visitors. Those custom stamps will cost businesses as little as $5 to purchase.
