Texas Launches Android App

The State of Texas said late Wednesday evening that it has released a new, Android application to access its Texas.gov web site. The new app allows users to find Texas government information, find government offices, browse information about the state, and also connect with the state's efforts on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr. The state said that in the first two months of 2011, 37 percent of the accesses to its web site were from Android. The Android app follows an earlier, iPhone application released by the state's Department of Information Resources.
