Active Power Wins Customer

Austin-based Activ Power claimed another customer win today, saying that it has signed a multimillion order from a "strategic IT partner" for four of its power systems. Active Power's products are used for backup power. The firm said that the customer is ordering four, 960kW PowerHouse systems, used for providing power to containerized datacenters. Exact financial details of the win were not disclosed. The firm said the equipment will start shipping in the second quarter.
