AT&T Taps Intuit For Mobile Payments
Dallas-based AT&T has tied with financial software provider Intuit, to power a smartphone payment service, the firms said today. They said this morning they have launched Intuit GoPayment for AT&T, a mobile application and credit card reader for small businesses. The two said the new service will be available through AT&T's nationwide small business sales force and call centers. The firms said they would offer pay-as-you-go pricing with no monthly fee on the service, with basic service offering a 2.7 percent discount rate for swiped transactions; a paid version of the service, costing $12.95, is available for businesses who process more than $1,000 a month, and offers a lower 1.7 percent discount rate.
