Dells Buys Wyse Technology
Round Rock-based Dell said this morning that it will acquire Wyse Technology, the developer of thin client hardware which makes it easier for companies to deploy cloud-based virtual desktops and terminals. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Dell said the buy will help expand its desktop virtualization capabilities. Wyse, which was founded in 1981, is a major provider of thin client terminals. Dell said the acquisition would be aggressive to its non-GAAP earnings in its second half of its fiscal 2013 year.
