Sabre Takes On Video Conferencing
Southlake-based travel technology firm Sabre is branching its services out to high definition, video conferences the firm said today. Sabre said its new system, Sabre Virtual Meetings, is a global reservation system for video conferencing, allowing corporations and travel agencies to book virtual meetings via GetThere and Sabre Red Workspace. Sabre looks to taking an attitude of if-you-can't-beat-them, join-them -- as video conferences have long been an alternative to travel for companies looking to avoid the high costs of business travel. According to Sabre, despite some recovery in business travel, it is still seeing cost-conscious corporations using HD video conferencing. The company said the new virtual meetings features will be available in September via its GetThere homepage.
