GM Tech Hiring In Austin On Fast Track

General Motors is looking to put hiring at its newly announce technology center in Austin on the fast track, with plans to complete hiring of 500 people for the center by January, according to a report today from the ABJ. The report, quoting Timothy Cox, GM's Executive Director for Enterprise Solutions Delivery, says that the available worker pool has exceeded the company's expectations. GM is just one of many companies which have looked to Austin as a great location for skilled, IT employees. Such notable firms as Yodle, Tableau Software, Apple, and others have all set expansion plans in the city in the last year or so, and even Google has a location in the city.
