Aurea Software Spins Out of Progress Software

Austin-based Aurea Software said today that it has launched its operations, made up of four former businesses of Progress Software. Aurea said it completed its acquisition of Savvion, Sonic, Actional and DataXtend SI, and has launched its sales, service, and support operations. Aurea said it has 250 people, and is headed by Scott Brighton, the former President of Trilogy Enterprises. Aurea said it is looking to create a "next-generation intelligent business process management system."
