Heyride Acquired By SideCar

Austin-based HeyRide, the developer of a mobile application for ridesharing in Austin, has been acquired by San Francisco-based SideCar. Financial terms of the deal were not announced. SideCar said the acquisition would help it build out its operational presence in Austin. Both HeyRide and SideCar focus on developing smartphone applications linking riders with drivers. SideCar is venture backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners, Google Ventures, SV Angel, Lerer Ventures, and others.
