Air Liquide Buys Voltaix

Air Liquide, the multinational chemicals supplier which has major U.S. operations in Houston, said today that it has acquired Voltaix, an electronics materials company headquartered in New Jersey. Financial terms of the acquisition were not announced. Voltaix, which was founded in 1986, makes materials used in the manufacturing of semiconductor devices and advanced solar cells, and has 185 employees. Air Liquide also supplies chemicals and materials for the semiconductor industry. Voltaix specialized in silicon, germanium, and boron based materials. American Air Liquide is based in Houston.
