Silicon Labs Buys Headquarters Buildlings
It looks like Austin-based Silicon Labs is planning to be here for quite a long time. The maker of semiconductors has reportedly paid $94M to acquire the two buildings it occupies downtown, exercising an option it had in its lease to purchase the properties. The ABJ said the firm purchased the buildings to fix its operating costs and solidify the company's presence. Silicon Laboratories is a developer of a range of integrated circuits used in the electronics industry; the firm's components include microcontrollers, demodulators, wireless transceivers, clocks, TV tuners, and a variety of other mixed signal products.
