Silicon Labs Completes Energy Micro Buy
Austin-based analog and mixed signal semiconductor developer Silicon Labs said Monday afternoon that it has completed its acquisition of Energy Micro AS. The deal was worth $115M in cash, plus $55M in earn out. Energy Micro AS develops 32-bit microcontrollers based on the ARM Cortex architecture, and was based in Oslo, Norway. Silicon Labs asaid the deal will help accelerate its growth opportunities, and bolsters its position in the Internet of Things, smart energy, home automation, security and portable electronics markets.
