Silicon Labs Ties With ARM On Internet of Things Effort
Austin-based microcontroller developer Silicon Labs and ARM said today that the two are in a new collaboration, focused on the Internet of Things (IoT) market. The two said they are working together in a collaboration, to develop power management application programming interfaces (APIs) for ARM's mbed platforms. The APIs will allow developers to optimize the energy usage of ARM's microprocessors, using APIs on Silicon Labs microcontrollers. Silicon Labs said its EFM32 Gecko microcontrollers automatically manage low energy sleep states on processors and peripherals, which can dramatically reduce energy consumption in systems.
