Taqua Buys Kineto Wireless

Richardson-based Taqua, a developer of mobile and fixed IP telecommunications systems, said today that it has acquired Kineto Wireless, a Silicon Valley developer of mobile communications technology. Financial terms of the buy were not disclosed. Kineto Wireless, which is based in Milpitas, California, offers up mobile technology for delivering voice and messaging services over Wi-Fi networks (VoWiFi). The company's flagship customer is Sprint, which launched its "Wi-Fi Calling" service in February.
