Silicon Labs Rolls Out Heart Sensor Kit For Wearables

Austin-based Silicon Labs has rolled out a new sensor kit to enable wrist-based, heart rate measurement in wearables. According to Silicon Labs, its new Si1144 HRM product ties a low power, optical sensor module, its EFM32 Gecko microcontroller (MRU), other supporting hardware, and software, to help implement optical heart rate sensing. The company said the hardware is designed to reduce the cost and complexity of wrist-based heart rate monitoring (HRM) applications. Pricing on the products was not announced.
