Dell, EMC Get Clearance From EU For Merger

Round Rock-based Dell and Massachusetts-based EMC said this morning that they have received unconditional clearance for the acquisition of EMC by Dell, from the European Commission (EC). The two said that it continues to expect its transaction to be completed later this year under its original schedule and terms. Dell said in October that it would pay $67 billion for EMC, and the two have since been slogging through a series of government clearances for the merger. Dell and EMC announced approval from the Federal Trade Commission last week.
