Dell, EMC Merger On Track To Close Next Wednesday

Round Rock-based Dell and Massachusetts-based EMC said that the two are on track for closing their $67 billion merger on Wednesday, September 7th. The two said the closing date comes after it received regulatory approval from China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), the final regulatory approval required for closing the transaction. Dell and EMC first announced the acquisition deal in October of 2015, nearly a year ago. The two said they will become Dell Technologies after the acquisition, with 140,000 employees around the world. The new company will be led by Michael Dell.
