Dermatology Associates Acquires Austin DermCare

Dallas-based Dermatology Associates, a private-equity backed provider of practice management services to dermatologists in Texas, Kansas, and Missouri, said it has acquired Austin Dermcare. Financial details of the buy were not disclosed. Dermatology Associates is backed by private equity investor ABRY Partners. Austin DermCare offers up clinical, surgical and cosmetic services, and has been serving Central Texas for more than 40 years. ABRY Partners acquired Dermatology Associates in May of 2016; the company had previously been owned by Candescent Partners. Dermatology Associates appears to be embarking on a rollup of small dermatology practices; the company just last week acquired Dermatology and Cosmetic Laser Surgery, which is based in Plano.
