Pensa Systems Gets $2.2M For Vision Recognition Tools
Austin-based Pensa Systems, a developer of artificial intelligence software used for vision recognition in the consumer goods industry, has raised $2.2M in a seed funding round. The funding was led by ATX Seed Ventures. The company also counts ZX Ventures as an investor, along with angels Mick Mountz (founder and CEO of Kiva Systems), and Yechiam Yemini (founder of Comverse, SMARTS, and Turbonomic). Pensa says its systems give retailers and brands "continuous visibility" on what is on shelves at retail stores, to help them better predict and optimize their inventory. Richard Schwartz is President and CEO of the company.
