VaaS International Holdings Acquired By Motorola Solutions

Fort Worth, Texas- and Livermore, California-based VaaS International Holdings (VaaS), a developer of license plate readers for the law enforcement industry, has been acquired by Motorola Solutions, Motorola Solutions said on Monday. According to Motorola Solutions, it paid $445M in a combination of cash and equity for VaaS. Vaas offers up mobile license plate readers, which are used by both law enforcement and commercial customers. The companies said that VaaS is expecting 2019 revenues of approximately $100M. VaaS has several subsidiaries, including Vigilant Solutions and Digital Recognition Network (DRN). VaaS International says its camera use machine learning and artificial intelligence for image capture and analysis.
