Uber Hopes To Have Flying Taxis Over DFW By 2020
Ridesharing service Uber said again on Wednesday that it hopes to start flying its flying taxis to Dallas-Fort Worth by 2020, as it announced a deal with the U.S. National Aeronautical and Space Administration (NASA) to developer software that would help support those flying taxi efforts. Uber--which said earlier this year that it was working with transportation authorities in Dallas-Fort Worth on the flying taxi effort--says it is using vertical-take-off-and-landing (VTOL) aircraft developed by other companies to speed people across cities across the U.S. Dallas-Fort Worth was the first market in the nation where Uber announced it would launch the service, which will be called Uber Elevate.
