Freescale Rolls Solar Power Component

Austin-based Freescale Semiconductor said this morning that the firm has rolled out a new product rolled out at solar power charging systems. According to Freescale, it is demonstrating a new ultra-low-voltage, DC-to-DC converter, which will improve the efficiency of single-cell solar power systems--such as solar-powered battery charges, trickle chargers, and cell phone and laptop chargers, among others. According to the firm, the new power management circuit drops the operating voltage required for those devices.
