LifeSize Eyes Federal Market
Austin-based LifeSize said today that it is looking to extend its reach into the U.S. federal market. The firm--which provides high definition videoconferencing equipment--said it is doing so via a new certification it recently received, the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) certification, which certifies interoperability between Department of Defense (DoD) information technology and national security products. The firm said the certification means its products are available through the DoD Unified Capabilities Approved Products List (UC APL). In conjunction with the certification, LifeSize also said it has expanded its federal sales organization and is working on meeting Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) requirements. LifeSize says its products are currently installed with the DoD, U.S. Army, the Department of Energy, NASA, the U.S. House of Representatives and DISA. LifeSize is now a unit of Logitech.
