Silicon Labs Rolls Out Audio Amplifier

Austin-based Silicon Laboratories, a manufacturer of mixed signal integrated circuits, said this morning that it has launched a new audio amplifier, aimed at the consumer audio electronics market. The firm said its new, Class D amplifier, Si270x, is aimed at consumer audio products such as smart phone docking stations, tabletop radios, TV sound bars and monitors, boom boxes, and battery-powered radios. The firm said its new amplifier is "smart phone friendly" and does not emit large amounts of EMI radiation, compared with traditional Class D amplifiers; that radiation interrupts 900Mhz smart phones and docking stations.
