Texas Instruments To Buy National Semiconductor
Dallas-based Texas Instruments said Monday afternoon that it is acquiring National Semiconductor, in a deal worth $6.5 billion in cash. The move combines two of the largest providers of analog semiconductors. TI and National Semiconductor said the boards of both companies have unanimously approved the transaction. The two said that shareholders will receive $25 in cash for each share of National common stock in the deal.
