Silicon Labs Releases Energy Harvesting Reference Design
Austin-based Silicon Laboratoriess aid this morning that it has introduced a new, reference design aimed at the solar energy harvesting market. The design helps developers create ultra-low-power, wireless sensor networks which use solar power as their energy source. The firm said the design will help developers to create self-sustaining, ultra-low-power wireless sensor networks for home and building automation, security systems, industrial control applications, medical monitoring devices, asset tracking systems and infrastructure and agricultural monitoring systems. The firm's ultra-low power chips and wireless transceivers eliminate issues with battery replacement and power supplies normally encountered with wireless control networks.
