Google Rolls Out Self Driving Cars At The Thinkery

Google is ramping up its efforts to start rolling out its self driving cars in Austin, and has started to engage with local citizens to talk about the project. Google--which said in July that it would be expanding its self driving car project here--spent the Saturday at The Thinkery, where mayor Steve Adler formally announced that Google would be bringing a few prototypes to town for testing. Adler said that innovation is part of Austin's DNA, and that's why the city is a "natural choice" for the first, test site for Google's prototypes outside of California. Google showed off both its cute two-seater self driving prototype, as well as the more substantial self-driving Lexus SUV, to attendees of the children's museum.
