1st Detect's New CEO Passes Away Suddenly
Austin-based scientific equipment maker 1st Detect, and parent company Astrotech Corporation, said late Tuesday that its CEO, Bob C. Kibler, has passed away. 1st Detect said Kibler passed away on October 31st, due to heart complications. Kibler had been named CEO in December of 2014. Astrotech said that Thomas B. Pickens III, the Chairman and CEo of Astrotech Corporation, and Chairman of 1st Detect, will step back into the role of Acting Chief Executive Officer until the company finds a successor. 1st Detect makes chemical analyzers that are used in the food and beverage, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, healthcare, research, and environmental markets.
