eRecyclingCorps Hits Trade-in Milestone

Venture backed eRecyclingCorps, the Irving, Texas-based wireless trade-in service, reported today that it had more than 1.1 million wireless device trade-ins in May, which it says is an industry record. The company said it collected more than 37,000 mobile devices each day in May, diverting more than 450,000 pounds of e-waste. The company said the amount was a 270 percent increase in total device tradeins compared with May of 2012. eRecyclingCorps is venture backed by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, OpenAir Equity Partners and SJF Ventures. The firm is headed by David Edmondson, the former CEO of RadioShack.
