Apple Plans New $1 Billion Campus In Austin

Apple said this morning that it is making a major expansion of its operations in Austin, and plans to invest $1 billion to build a new campus in North Austin. According to Apple, the expansion--part of a nationwide employment growth plan--will be less than a miles from Apple's existing facilities in Austin, and will accommodate 5,000 additional employees, with the capacity to grow up to 15,000 employees on a new, 133-acre campus. Apple said the new campus will make it the largest private employer in Austin.
